If you want to practise you can use panel board like this

1. Switch Controlling One Light
For this Diagram you need to connect the Line 1 to Switch and the line 2 connect to Bulb then bulb connect to switch.

2.Switch Controlling Two lights

For this Diagram you need to Connect the Line 1 to Switch and Switch Connect to the first bulb Terminal 1 and then connect to the 2nd Bulb to Terminal 1

For The Line 2 Connect the wire in Terminal 2 in First Bulb and then Connect in 2nd Bulb on Terminal 2.
